Barbara Romito, MA, CCLS has been a Certified Child Life Specialist for over 30 years, currently serving as the Director of Child Life and Family Centered Care at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, NJ. She has lectured extensively, and published research related to psychosocial care of children and families. She served on the boards of The Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP), Child Life of Greater NY and recently completed an 8-year term as the ACLP liaison to he American Academy of Pediatrics, Committee on Hospital Care, authoring the 2021 AAP Policy Statement on Child Life Services. She has spearhead initiatives at the local and national level related to emotional safety in pediatric healthcare, ensuring a culture of commitment
to zero harm.
