Amanda Vickers Named Chair-Elect of the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board

The Pediatric Nursing Certification Board (PNCB) is pleased to announce that CPNP-PC-at-Large Board Representative Amanda Vickers, MS, RN, CPNP-PC, PMHS has been selected as Chair-Elect for PNCB’s Board of Directors. She will assume the role of Chair on July 1, 2023, leading the premier nursing certification organization in our specialty whose strategic focus is to be a driving force for quality in pediatric nursing globally.

Vickers is a pediatric nurse practitioner with 14 years of experience in both acute and primary care settings including the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Endocrinology, and Pediatric Neurosurgery. She is currently employed as a Lead Advanced Practice Practitioner at a school-based telemedicine company in San Francisco, California providing urgent and primary care for students in medically underserved areas across the United States. She has a special interest in working with LGBTQ+ youth, and she advocates for all children to have access to high-quality healthcare regardless of gender identity, race, immigration, or socioeconomic status. 

Vickers attended the University of South Florida where she earned her BS and MS degrees in nursing and was honored with the Spirit of Nursing Award for her enthusiasm and contributions to nursing practice.  She has served as a PNCB exam item writer and is currently a Board liaison for the Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Primary Care Exam Committee and the newly established Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Competency Framework Task Force.

"Her strategic leadership will build upon the past good work of PNCB to carry out new priorities and further position PNCB as a leading voice in pediatric nursing practice."
